Description
Are you looking for a unit that will engage your students on the topic of weather and climate change? This unit tackles the difficult subject of whether or not humans can control nature. We cover a survey of topics that go over the basics of weather and climate in order to prepare students to write an essay on the subject. Students will come away from this unit with a new appreciation for the topic and for the enormity of nature. This unit includes all of the formative and summative assessments needed in order to guide students to higher levels of learning. This unit incorporates the NGSS standards and can be adjusted to teach students from grades 8-10.

NGSSHS-ESS3-5
Analyze geoscience data and the results from global climate models to make an evidence-based forecast of the current rate of global or regional climate change and associated future impacts to Earth's systems. Examples of evidence, for both data and climate model outputs, are for climate changes (such as precipitation and temperature) and their associated impacts (such as on sea level, glacial ice volumes, or atmosphere and ocean composition). Assessment is limited to one example of a climate change and its associated impacts.
