Description

If you are teaching French family vocabulary and the possessive adjectives mon, ma, and mes in French 1 or exploratory French, you are probably looking for a project to make it more fun!

Directions and rubric are available in French and English. There are 3 rubrics to choose from to best meet your needs!

The family tree project for French is a great and fun way to practice family vocabulary, possessive adjectives, and basic sentences for beginning French students. It also makes a great "get to know you" activity for the beginning of the year.

For this project, students draw and label a family tree in French using family vocabulary and possessive adjectives.

For the writing component, students write a one paragraph description in French about one person from their family.

The point values are editable on parts of this document so that you can type or write in the points you wish to assign for the final project. No other parts of this document are editable. Thank you for understanding.

Skills assessed in this project are:

* using French family vocabulary words (mère, soeur, etc.)

* French possessive adjectives (mon, ma, mes)

* French subject pronouns (il/elle)

* Adjective agreement for masculine, feminine, plural nouns

* Writing complete sentences

* Describing appearance

* Describing personality

* Expressing likes and dislikes

Includes rubrics for the paragraph and another for the family tree. Also includes an example of family trees in English and French to help students in the design process.

It is always a favorite in my class. It can even be used as a basis for a speaking assessment or partnered speaking activity!
