Teaching research skills? Then you need this set that comes with 2 lesson plans equipped with differentiation ideas, a PowerPoint presentation, student task cards, & an answer key. The overall theme of the task cards or questions are animal related.

More about the lesson plans:

  • Lesson Plan 1 is an introduction to using World Book® Kids. It contains a PowerPoint presentation, which can be opened in Google Slides, and student task cards, so that you can use them together for guided practice. Students will learn how to identify keywords & phrases in questions & use them to conduct searches using the reputable source—World Book®.

  • Lesson Plan 2 allows for the task cards to be used as a game for paired and/or independent practice for students who are already familiar with World Book® but need additional practice.

Lesson Plan 1 is perfect for students in Grades 2 & 3 and for students in grades 4, 5, & 6 who are unfamiliar with World Book®.

Lesson Plan 2 is great for 4th, 5th, & 6th graders who have used World Book® in the past & just need extra practice honing their search skills.

This is the library lesson your students will look forward to year after year! Students absolutely LOVE when the task cards are used as a game. See Lesson Plan 2.
