Description
This is a resource I created during my first year as an AP Language and Composition teacher. Very similar to the DBQ (Document Based Questions) that students write in History class, this type of assignment is crucial to promoting close reading, text-supported arguments, and visual text.
This activity is designed to:
1) Help students become familiar with the wording of the exam and exam directions
2) Have students take a position on a controversial issue
3) Read visuals as text
4) Practice in-text citation
5) Use textual support
6) Construct an argument essay
