Description

Looking to form meaningful relationships with students? Looking to respect the diversity reflected in your classroom?

In this activity, students reflect on their cultures, answering questions about traditional foods, holidays, dress, etc. They then use their answers to create a quilt piece. When all the pieces have been cut out and hung together, they create a quilt piece that reflects the diversity of everyone in the class.

Created by a social studies teacher to introduce diversity in the history curriculum, but may be used as a general culture-building activity for all subjects.
