A fun way for early writers to explore both description and color. A color poem chooses a place (indoors, outdoors, or even outer space!) and describes it by listing things of a certain color found in that place. The students need to come up with four or five "things" of the same color found in that place. For "spice," one thing of a different color is added as the last line of the poem.
