This activity is designed to introduce students to the concept of rates and unit rates, through a simulation-style grocery store activity. With a small group, students are given a grocery list, a “$20 bill”, and open access to five “grocery store aisles”. Students will travel the aisles with their “families” while shopping for their dinner ingredients.
