Current Events Google Slides
This is a google slide that provides a place for an entire class to participate in a current events activity. Each student takes one slide to fill in the guided questions. If you are comfortable giving students editing access, then all can create and view and share. I include a basic template, but the samples show the possibility if you give your students the opportunity to edit their slide appearance but still follow the guided questions.

Year-long daily facts, quotes, and picture warm-up
Easy to use PowerPoint that automatically brings up a daily fact/question, a quote, and a picture. There is also space to put your objective and a warm-up. Each day's quote/fact/picture have some theme tying them together and are good either for a quick warm-up or for beginning a class discussion.
