The story starts with repetitive reading so children learn the chant of the story, then adds the challenge of filling in the blanks. At the end, the children will be asked to put the story in sequential order. This activity can be used in large group, small group, pairs, individual, and independent activity! Great for special education!

This activity is one I created for my little guys to introduce the concept of using a ruler. Each page has a ruler and an object already placed on it as well as a line to reference where the child should be looking to find out how long it is. When a student selects the correct number (for its placement on the ruler) it has a reinforcing sound. It ends with a few pages of "which one is the longest/shortest" to help reinforce the topic.

I spy (shapes)

Students get to play I spy on the promethian board. The first few pages have "obvious" shapes on the page and when students select the shape it plays a reinforcing sound. The last few pages are pictures in which students identify shapes within the picture.

This activity is a winter themed way to practice 1:1 correspondence and number recognition. Children count the number of mittens on the line and the select the appropriate corresponding number. When they select the right answer there is a reinforcing sound. The pages are made for counting to 10, but I added a few slides at the end to expand the counting for 1-20.

This activity was a great way for my whole class to practice the concept of basic sequencing and putting objects in order. Each page has 3 or 4 of the same item that are in different sizes. The children put the items on the bench from shortest to tallest.

This is an interactive flipchart that allows students to read environmental print as they pull items out of a bag and place under the store logo where the items can be purchased. Some items may fall into multiple categories, allowing for further discussion and deeper thinking. There is also a slide with community helpers and items they would need for their jobs.
