Thrust into a harsh, unforgiving world, our ancestors managed to eke out their survival by constantly staying one step ahead of the elements – modifying their shelter, food, clothing and settlement patterns to the capricious forces of nature that threatened to destroy them. Using the 5 Themes of Geography* as a backdrop, this two-part worksheet examines the changes and continuities in human adaptation.
