Introduction to black history month
This flipchart is one I use to introduce the concept/idea of black history month to my students. It begins with a song about Martin Luther King, then has picture examples of the words past and present to help my kids understand what we mean when we say the "past". Then there are pages of examples of black athletes, musicians, actors, etc. At the end there is a video "black history alphabet" I hope this simplified way of introducing black history helps your class as much as it helped mine.

This is a FlipChart for Interactive Whiteboards.This is based on the book Tom Tom for Prep HASS (My Special Place). This is a great task for online learning and also to engage the whole class. There are numerous interactive activities to help the student's engage with the task. It also introduces the concept 'bird's eye view' by using a kookaburra flying over Tom Tom's town. The students have to label the map and also engage with the story about Tom's special place and their own special places.

Australia Unit with Mem Fox Books on Promethean Board
This flipchart contains pages to help teach Australia, Australian animals and some books by Australian author, Mem Fox.

This is a flipchart I created to use on my Promethean Board. I used it during my Ruby Bridges unit. I created it to along with Black History Month which is in February.

Quilts of the Heart Craft Activity for ActivBoard
Every year during the winter my students and I love to make paper quilts. There is so much American history in the topic of quilting. This activity is fun for students of any age as they create quilt blocks from a template. This ActivBoard activity is linked to literature, math and social studies. Common Core Standards for 3rd grade are included along with step by step instructions and examples. Finally there in an interactive page where students can create their own quilt block.

Australia Promethean Chart with Activotes with Real Photographs
This ActivInspire flipchart was created to teach my students about Australia during December when we celebrate Christmas Around the World. The flipchart has 38 pages and was designed to use with ActivInspire Activotes. The first 18 pages show images of Australia with a matching title. African Heritage-MArtin Luther King Flipchart
I created this 8 page ActivInspire Flip chart to teach my special needs kinder class about important people who have made a difference. Focusing on Rosa Parks, Martin Luther King Jr. and Ruby Bridges, students will have the opportunity to learn about each person and how they fought to make a difference. The goal is for students to be able to label each person with the correct name by matching and to colour using appropriate skin tones.
