This unit includes smart notebooks introducing 9 different kinds of poetry. This includes Haiku, Senryu, Concrete, Sound, Ode, I Used to be, Limerick, Color, and Cinquain. Each poem is explained, provides examples, and walks the students through practicing on their own. I typically have the students complete each poem in their writer's notebook and then publish as a formal poetry booklet.
