Sideways Stories From Wayside School Book Unit
This is a unit created to use with Sideways Stories From Wayside School, by Louis Sachar. It includes the following:
1. A section for keeping track of information about the many characters in the story.
2. Vocabulary words and a story outline for each chapter.
3. A game or activity to use at the end of every 5 chapters.

This interdisciplinary packet is called Athletes Against Bullying. It's a series of scenarios about sportsmanship, sports, and bullying that require students to think, reflect on their choices and actions, and solve problems.
I found in my classroom that the students really enjoyed math or reading assignments when paired with something they were interested in. I had a student complain about reading all the time. I found a TPT basketball packet with reading and math problems, and he loved it.

When copied front to back this 6 page printable turns into a 12 page mini book students can complete instead of the traditional book report. It can be used over and over again with any piece of literature. It is especially helpful for independent reading books and can be put on display in a class library as a way for students to recommend their favorite books.
