Annotations for Base Ten Word Problems & Math Class: Reading Diagnostic *Bundle*
Have students take a reading diagnostic at the end of class designed for the math school year (incorporates reading questions as they relate to math class and using the annotation key with a math word problem, along with follow up questions.)

Consider posting Word Walls a week prior to the planned topic without any discussion by the teacher. (if you can stand it!) This will serve as a READING activity for students. Yes! We recommend THREE word wall areas! PREVIEW, REVIEW and CURRENT! Of course, the REVIEW word wall area should be quite large if possible, as they will ALL end up there! Try it! You can't go wrong.
