Making Music from Math Equations
LESSON PURPOSE:Enrich students' understanding of two-dimensional x-y equations in a discovery-based or exploration-based activity.Have students analyze linear, quadratic, cubic, absolute value, sine, tangent, and random number functions and equations.Introduce sonifications of equations (hearable equations) as an alternative or supplement to visualizations of equations on traditional x-y graphs. Intro to Measurement STEM Interdisciplinary Lesson (Meter, Gram, and Liter)
This is an introduction to measurement. It provides students with an exploration of activities they can use to get familiar with measurement. It includes a meter tape measure, some measuring labs, assessments, graphic organizers, and an Interdisciplinary STEM Challenge with a focus on all 8th grade standards across the curriculum. It has a getting started page for teachers. This resource is great for students to begin measurement. I really hope you enjoy! It is well worth it!
