Comparative Superlative Zoo Animal Picture Match

Mrs Millers Materials wants to help you teach or assess comparative and superlative terms by making sure each animal gets the right amount of food. The littlest monkey gets the littlest banana- or make things interesting by requesting that the longest fish get a shorter worm! This can be helpful for speech/language therapy or English lessons.

Classroom Rules Hand in Hand

We use this in our classroom to memorize as a chant. Make a copy and laminate for each student to put in their BEE folders. These folders are parent communication folders that keep students organized throughout the year. What a great place for them to keep the rules of the classroom handy. Look for future postings of the BEE folders and how to get your year off to an organized start!

This is a simple table for your students to fill in while doing a sink/float experiment. My class absolutely loved doing it. The students each chose an object from the classroom that they wanted to drop in the bucket of water. They them moved around the class and wrote down all the objects of theri classmates too. Next they predicted whether they thought the objects would sink or float, before one by one they dropped the objects in and recorded the results.

When using this, I usually split my class into two groups. I have one group as "presenters" and one group as "learners." Students share a project they have been working on while classmates walk around the room learning about the projects and taking notes using this graphic organizer. I then have the groups switch places so that the learners are now presenters and the presenters are now learners.
