I have created a smart notebook file using passages from some of the Elementary Battle of the Books titles for 2015-2016 school year. Using this rich literature and strategy aids in not only word decoding but also comprehension and it does so on third through fifth grade students reading levels. I have also included instructions on how to create your own Guess the Covered word passage. This is especially great for science and social studies teachers. It can also be used in math.
