The Polar Express Sequencing and Summarizing Activity
After reading the book or watching the movie, the students put the 8 events from the story in the correct order to create a summary. The sequence strips can be enlarged for use in a pocket chart to adapt the activity for the younger grades.

This book is adapted from the story Bear Says Thanks by Karma Wilson. The story is simplified with only small concrete sentences with vivid real life pictures. I used this for my K-2 ASD classroom. Very good for emergent and young kids who need simplified text to read and or to listen to.

Thankgiving Level A Easy Reader Pack
This pack contains a level A reader 4 page booklet, 4 page level A reader with blank lines, and matching vocabulary cards. This can be used in small group or guided reading. Spider "Sight Word" Reader
This sight word reader has a spider theme and combines numeral recognition skills with beginning reading skills. The students actually illustrate their own pictures for the book. The fill-in-the blank format allows for differentiation. The teacher can write the word or the students can "sound out" and write their own words. This is a great reader to practice those emergent reading skills!
