Journalism Writing Self-Editing/Self-Check Handout for Students - offered in Microsoft Word so you can customize it! Do you have time to edit students' rough drafts? Isn't reading & grading final drafts time consuming enough? Do math teachers pre-grade homework & tests, turn them back to the student so the student can make corrections, then read & grade them all over again? Sounds ridiculous, doesn't it!? That's why I'm a firm believer in self-checking and self-editing, as well

This is a great resource to help reluctant writers. It uses Google Slides, so it is completely digital! It includes notes for the different parts of the essay and an activity idea (I use former students' work, so it is not included). It also includes an outline, a transition words and phrases guide, an Informational / Explanatory Writing Checklist, a rubric for grading content, and a rubric for grading grammar! This can be printed off for students who prefer to write rather than type.
