Common Core Holocaust Unit Week 2
This is Week 2 of a comprehensive Holocaust Unit. The unit as a whole is designed to address Language Arts and Social Studies Common Core standards. The unit covers the history of Antisemitism all the way through to the end of WWII and the Liberation of the camps. Each weekly unit takes me approximately one week to implement in a 54-minute class.

How To Read Primary Sources
I found my students struggling to read the arcane words and syntax used in primary sources. This lesson teaches students to break down sources by determining definitions of words, breaking down syntax, then looking for meaning. The lesson uses a small excerpt from the Declaration of the Rights of Man and uses the Declaration of the Rights of Women for independent practice.
