Famous person research assignment
This assignment is a great combo. Research, writing AND speaking. Your students will research a famous person they admire and find interesting. They will summarize the information and put it in a speech form to present to the class. I've included the brainstorm/ research worksheet as well as the rubric to go with.
You could encourage your students to present using visual aids/ powerpoints or videos.
