December Holidays
This SMART board lesson explores Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, and Christmas. It provides a brief description of each holiday through text and video links. After each December holiday is introduced, there is a short activity to practice identifying symbols for each holiday. Students will identify, match, read, listen, spell, draw, and write in this lesson.
At the end there is a brief sorting exercise that can be used to assess student learning. There is also a writing and drawing piece.

Desert Vocabulary Memory Smartboard Game
This is a Smartboard memory game with desert animals and vocabulary. The first slide has 12 slides with different desert animals/plants (American Southwest desert). The second slide has 6 with the "card" sent to the back, so viewers can see a selection of the vocabulary. All photos and "cards" are locked, so students will not be able to move them.

The - ot Family Vocabulary and Game
This is a wonderful activity that I do on my PanaBoard. There are 14 slides. Slide 1 opens with intro to -ot family. Then slides 2 to 13 have a picture of an -ot family word along with a sentence. The sentence can be read aloud and then reveal the word by moving the shape that covers it. This build vocabulary as well as comprehension. This is a shared reading that goes with the song "I Like Money" by Dr. Jean. It has pictures to go with the song that will help the students learn characteristics of coins. It is best if you have the song file that you can attach to the notebook. However, if you know the tune the students can sing along. This is a SmartBoard document that I use to help my students learn the pre-primer sight words. On each slide, is a sight word. There is also a hidden sentence that contains the sight word.
