This is a 7 page booklet that features two journal entries on each page. The first is a title page, so there are 12 writing prompts. Each page has several lines for a student response, as well as a box to draw a picture of the journal entries. These half sheets are to be cut out and given to students one at a time. At the end of the month, just before break, I like to punch holes and bind the journals for students to keep as a momento. This is for levels 2-4, or for special education students

Are you frustrated with your student's lack of descriptive writing. This activity is a great introduction to the concept of showing not telling in writing. On each of the twelve pages, students have an opportunity to sketch a picture related to an emotion. At the bottom of each page, they should describe the emotion without using the actual word (e.g. my heart was racing, my jaw dropped, and etc.)

This is an end of the school year memory book designed for elementary age children. The book has 14 pages for students to complete. There are places for students to write about their teachers, friends, favorite things, favorite (and not so favorite) memories, and 2 pages for autographs. I have my students cut the pages out and then we glue them on black construction paper, punch holes in the sides, and tie the pages together with ribbon. It makes a great keepsake for students to take home.
