This is a fun activity that I did with my social emotional groups, as well as other students, at the high school I worked at. It was a fun activity to do highlighting the positive in student's lives during a holiday season that can be stressful to others. This can be done on any bulletin board or display case. Good for all age groups!

I used this with my divorce group around Thanksgiving time. I actually enlarged it, laminated the finished product and gave it to the student to use as a "placement" and a topic of discussion with family over the holiday.

Standing Turkey Talk Writing
Students can create their own turkey that stands up! This is a great hands on Thanksgiving activity that students create individually and then complete a narrative writing piece on Thanksgiving.
You will use only construction paper when creating this activity. Students will use a square piece of brown construction paper and then create their own feathers using different colored construction paper.

I used this paper for the final draft of an essay where the students wrote about what they are thankful for. As it is in Word format, you can change the clip art to different colors to make a colorful class bulletin board with their writings. The clip art is from www.clipart.email.
