Blade Runner Symbols
Blade Runner is a powerful movie which is loaded with philosophical fodder. The production design is a compendium of mythic, historical, and cinematic allusions which are a feast for the eyes and mind. Certain objects do figure in the film again and again, the presence of which offer a lot of ideas for discussion. In this activity, students research the possible symbolic connections these images might have and think about how they connect with the film's themes.
