This project can be done at home, in-class, or as a group. You give students a 6-digit number and they need to complete the sheet on chart paper or poster board. YOU CAN CHANGE THE NUMBERS TO INCLUDE DECIMALS!!! The students must make a place value table/chart, name the periods, and the name of each value. They need to correctly write the number in word form and expanded forms. I teach my students all the ways to write expanded form. This a project you can use year after year!
