I use this tool to teach students the Next Dollar or Dollar Up strategy. It is very functional for independent work. I have found laminating these cards and having the students use a vis a vis marker this a great tool for independent work throughout the day, or as a part of a math center. Go Leprechaun!
Go Leprechaun is very similar to go fish just St. Patrick's Day themed and money based. Players are each given a certain number of cards, the two cards are value and coins. They need to match the coins to their value. This game helps students identify coins and count their values while working in collaborative pairs. It is best used as a math center with two people.
