Rekenrek--Common Core Kindergarten Math Tool Flipchart
Help your students understand how to model and build numbers to 20.
This flipchart is a digital "rekenrek" created from the CCGPS framework plans. A rekenrek is similar to an abacus but with a few key conceptual differences:
*The beads start on the right so that students can "read" their numbers from left to right.
*It is based on 5's AND 10's
*It only has 2 rows of beads to create numbers with both rows encouraged for creating numbers.

Place Value Game Addition to 20- Connect 4
Connect 4 Game with Addition to 20 number sentences
I split the students up into two teams (yellow and red). I have an actual Connect 4 Game and demonstrated that the pieces fall all the way to the bottom since the Promethean Board cannot do that. I also explain that in order to connect 4 the same color must be touching vertical, horizontal, or diagonal.
You can have the students give the sum or have them show the problem with manipulatives to receive the game piece.

This multiplication flipchart makes an excellent multiplication math center. The flipchart contains two pages with a pocket full of array tiles ranging from 1x1 through 10x10. Quick Images: Building Number Sense
This product is meant to be part of a quick number sense review/routine. It can be used at the beginning or end of any math lesson as a warm up or a review. Students view an "image" for several seconds (up to 5) and then the image is covered. The teacher asks students how many they saw and students tell how many.
