TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have had the pleasure of teaching a variety of primary specialist subjects in the past ten years, including music, drama, and sport at a private girls school in Australia. These subject areas have given me wonderful opportunities to continually tap into my creative side and keep an avid passion for music and performance. In the past few years I have also opened my home to mothers and babies, and instructed infant music classes. This experience has given me a newfound appreciation for the importance of music in early child development.

MY TEACHING STYLE

My teaching style is energetic and enthusiastic. I'm a music teacher so I have the pleasure of being able to sing, dance and play with my students all day long. Having fun and active lesson plans is a great way to keep students engaged in their learning!

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

I like to consider my daughter my greatest "honor", and my inspiration for my creations!

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I received my Bachelors of Elementary Education in 2000, with a music specialisation.

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

I understand that music can be a subject that is approached with much trepidation, and I am forever hearing "but I can't sing a note". Having witnessed firsthand the immense benefits of active music participation in the home and classroom, on life skills such as language development, socialisation and confidence, it is my goal to design general classroom teachers with resources that incorporate simple songs, rhymes and raps so that they too can fill their classrooms with the wonder of music. "Because everything sounds better with a song."
