TEACHING EXPERIENCE

My name is Lori, and I’m the face behind The Family and Consumer Science Classroom! I started teaching Family and Consumer Science in 2007, and over the years, I have taught both middle and high school levels, as well as different levels of students in both rural and inner city schools.

MY TEACHING STYLE

My teaching style mostly consists of a hands-on approach. I think students learn best when they are hands-on and can be very beneficial in real life skills.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

Testimonial from an extremely satisfied customer. Family and Consumer Science | Taste Test | Student Food Lab | Product Comparison "I loved this resource! We had just learned about meal planning and being a savvy shopper so this resource was great to compare name & store brands. My students had a TON of fun with this activity and I was surprised by the results. Every student except 1 thought Kroger brand fruit loops were the name brand, which I thought was fun. Will be continuing to use this resource in the future, thank you!" Lyndze D.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I received my undergraduate degree from Ashland University (BS Education, Family and Consumer Science). I started on my Master’s Degree at Youngstown State University and finished my first Master’s Degree at Ashland University in Curriculum and Instruction. I am currently working on my second Master’s Degree from Ashland University for Technology Facilitator.
