TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have taught first grade as both a regular education teacher and a reading specialist. I have taught early childhood as a full-day pre-kindergarten teacher in a regular education classroom. I have taught as an alternative education teacher for middle and high school students in a private educational setting. I have taught nine years as a self-contained middle school autism teacher in a brick-and-mortar school working with students with intellectual disabilities. Currently, I have taken on the role of working for a public cyber school teaching completely virtually every day in an autistic support setting!

MY TEACHING STYLE

I love to be super organized. Things have to have a home, a purpose, and a meaningful reason that they are in my classroom. I hate clutter and think that it is so overwhelming when there is too much going on in a classroom. I think that products I purchase or make for myself need to be used in multiple scenarios to maximize their use. I love to teach with hands-on activities that keep the students engaged.
