TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have taught all grades K-12 in one form or another over the past 13 years. Subjects have been full self-contained classrooms, combo-classrooms, art, yearbook, English, math, credit recovery, and technology.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I like to encourage my kids to be creative and comfortable. We set goals, we cheer each other on, and we try to make our day as enjoyable as possible. I like to foster independence in my students by giving them choices, the chance to find solutions to their problems with guidance, and the confidence they need to be their best possible selves.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

Dean's list in college. A teacher scholarship for 2 free classes at the Academy of Art.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

BS. Education with a K-12 Art Minor

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

I am a mother of two, a teacher, and a graphic artist. I love having a Sunday to "just create". Colors and designs make me happy. When I am not mixing up papers, paints, or playing on my computer, I am mixing up essential oils and potions for a greener, cleaner home.
Creativity.
I've been finding time or yearning for it in one form or another for as long as I can remember.
I must admit, when I get an idea I become obsessed :)
