TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have been teaching for over 20 years now, having changed careers from the interpreting/translation field. I have taught all levels K-12 and have also taught adults. I firmly believe students need worksheets and handouts that are easy to understand but challenging work (not "busy work") that solidifies or advances their learning. I also believe in personalizing education as much as possible and in helping my fellow educators to maximize their time with their students - instead of always writing/re-writing curriculum or creating new documents/handouts.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I feel teaching and learning should be fun! It should also be personal and learning experiences should expose students to concepts and material that help them make cross-curricular and cross-cultural connections. They should most certainly be using language for real-world purposes!
