TEACHING EXPERIENCE

Hello there! I have been a special education teacher for the better part of a decade and have taught in a range of settings from a self-contained special education classroom to an elementary resource room to a co-taught middle school classroom. I now hold a central office resource position and couldn't be more excited to share my resources and expertise with you! I am certified in both special education and general education and have experience teaching students with many diverse strengths, talents, interests, and learning needs. I LOVE co-teaching and am excited to design resources teachers can use to support students with diverse educational strengths and needs IN the general education classroom. I enjoy working with ALL learners and watching them soar to success!

MY TEACHING STYLE

I love using multisensory instruction techniques to support my students in all content areas. I believe learning should be FUN and dynamic - that's how you make the learning sticky! I use a lot of visual supports and hands-on materials and activities in my lessons to help students grasp new material. I have my associate-level certification in the Orton-Gillingham approach to structured, multisensory reading instruction. I use concrete-representational-abstract scaffolding in math.
