TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have been teaching in Elementary School for 23 years. I was a fourth grade teacher for my first 3 years. Then I switched to first grade. I will probably retire in first grade.

MY TEACHING STYLE

In first grade I have students of all levels. I try to meet the needs of all of my students by doing a variety of things in the classroom. I teach guided reading in a large group and a small group setting. I incorporate the Daily 5 into my classroom as well. I try to integrate all of my subject areas on a daily basis.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

I won "Teacher of the Year." I won Teacher of the Year three times.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I attended Bowling Green State University for Undergraduate school and The University of Toledo for Graduate school.

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

I am the mother of triplets. I have two girls and a boy. I also have three step-children who I absolutely adore. Together my husband and I have a little girl who was born with Down Syndrome. She has changed all of our lives in the most amazing way. She is the center of our entire family, a little piece of all of us! Life is busy but I wouldn't have it any other way!
