I am a Secondary English Education teacher. I am certified 7-12th grade English and 7th-age 21 Special Education. I also have an Autism Endorsement Certificate and have spent three Summers working Extended School Year programs with students who have severe Autism and Intellectual Disabilities. During the rest of the school year, I taught Learning Support English 9-12, Learning Support English, and co-taught College Prep English grades 9 and 10 for four years. I also developed and taught a two-year English Essentials curriculum for students entering the workforce immediately after graduating from high school. I now teach College Prep English 9 and Essentials 11 and 12 courses.
I strongly believe in collaboration between students and the teachers. I collaborate with my colleagues constantly for the benefit of my students, and believe in asking for the students' input. As a Special Education certified teacher, I believe in personalized learning, differentiating assessments and assignments, and getting to know my students.
