This packet helps students students learn to listen for the "th" voiced and "th" unvoiced sound.
My students always need additional support with the two sounds of "th" in our Orton Gillingham program. So, I created this packet. I send some of these pages home for homework, I use others in small group word work, and other pages I have my volunteers work with students one on one. There's a variety of ways you can use these printables!
The pages included are:
- Cut and Paste Sort
- Identify and Color "th" Voiced Words
- Identify and Color "th" Unvoiced Words
- Parts of Speech Sorting- Noun, Verb, Adjective -reading the "th" word and sort it into the correct column
- Vocabulary- Find the synonym for the th word
- Read the word and write a word that rhymes with the listed word.
- Sort and Write
- Fill in the Missing word in a Sentence- Students read the sentence and use the words from the word bank to fill in the missing word. Words used: they, that, than, those, the
- Read and Write- students read the words listed and write a sentence using that word.
- Read and Write- students read the words listed and write a sentence using that word.
- Look at the picture & pick the picture with the correct spelling and write. This is differentiated. The second page does not have words to choose from for the correct spelling
- Build a Sentence Cut & Paste- students read the words, cut them out, glue the words into the correct sentence, and then write the sentence.
- Cut & Paste- Cut out the word, glue the word under the correct picture. These are all unvoiced th words.
- Sorting Cards- Students sort cards. 5 cards with 1 header card for each sound.
- Sorting Center Activity- Teacher will need to prep this prior to centers. Students will sort Apples with th words into the correct baskets. There is a total of 24 apples to sort.
- Fluency Grid or Rapid Chart- 2 charts for each th sound. There's also two levels of difficulty to meant the different levels of your students
- Vocabulary practice- Students read the definition or phrase and write the word that best fits
- Read, Trace, and Write- offered at a variety of levels
