music - animal dance interactive game

My students and I love interactive games.

In my music class my students love coming up to the smartboard, creating a pattern and dancing, or just to put on some movement the whole class can do together.

I created this as a tool to help with engagement, making good choices, and setting classroom rules. During the first classes, in order to be able to come to the board, create a pattern, and lead the class, I tell my students:

"I am using my eyes to see who is making good choices in my class, who is sitting crisscross apple sauce, who is catching a bubble, who will be the first to come up to the board to create a pattern and lead the class"

I used this in KG in the first two classes in order to establish class expectations.

It can also be used as a brain break when my students need to move a bit or to use when students are making really good choices and this is their re-treat.

This product is an interactive game where the students can come to the smartboard and create a movement pattern and move to it or I can make a movement pattern and the whole class participates.

what is nice about the images is that they are gif files and they actually move.

I included some music to go a long with the movement to allow student to feel the beat while they are moving.

I also included a worksheet if you want to give the student to make patterns and move at home.

You MUST have Microsoft PowerPoint installed on your computer or it won't work.
