b /d Confusion and Reversals (OT activity program)
- Zip
Description
Two letters that often cause most reversals or confusion are the 'b' and 'd' sounds. To prevent letter confusion and reversals, it is essential that these letters begin correctly and formed correctly. When children learn to form their letters in a fun, multi-sensory way, the unnecessary reversal of 'b' and 'd' can be reduced or avoided.
This resource was created by an occupational therapist and focuses on letter formation and visual and auditory perception exercises to prevent 'b' and 'd' confusion and reversals. The animation video demonstrates a 3-step strategy that can be applied every time a 'b' or 'd' is written. The correct starting point and letter formation will help prevent/reduce the reversal of letters during writing tasks.
Parents, therapists, and educators can use the program as part of the teaching process, homework, or therapy.
It includes the following.
- Animated Video
- Variety of worksheets and activities
- Perceptual and auditory worksheets and activities
- Classroom Posters
- Playdough Mats
