What educators are saying

Great resource - print and go, no fuss. The kids loved the activities and I love the time saving aspects - thank you.

Description

Printables to make a memorable & educational zoo field trip. Before the visit word prep and animal knowledge cards will make the trip more meaningful. The zoo animal passport will add to the learning fun!

What this includes…

For before your zoo field trip:

* Teacher Check List

* Animal Fast Facts Display Cards
>>> Display cards can go on a bulletin board as a visual to reinforce background knowledge prior to your trip. The cards include one for the title, birds, fish, insects, mammals, reptiles and amphibians.

* Zoo Words – word wall cards
>>> Words & definitions. Cards include a title, metamorphosis, carnivore, herbivore, omnivore, diurnal, nocturnal, vertebrate, invertebrate, aviary, endangered, habitat, extinct, and territory (animal). In addition, two blank word card frames are included in case you would like to add additional zoo words for your word wall display.

* Dictionary Challenge Worksheet – print double-sided

For during your zoo field trip:

* My zoo passport booklet
>>> Includes cover, information page and 31 numbered pages for the exhibits. Students color in "I saw this!" stamps and record their observations. Animal exhibits included are lion, tiger, elephant, rhinoceros, giraffe, zebra, bears, kangaroo, primates, reptiles, birds, camel, petting zoo and two blank sections to sketch & describe additional exhibits visited.

For after your zoo field trip:

*Chaperone thank you letter stationery

("Zoo in a Room" Option: For those who don't get to take annual field trips to the zoo, an alternate idea would be to set up animal stations around your classroom. The kids could go to each "exhibit" in class and fill out their passports based on the information provided at each station.)
