Description
Year 7 - Original Allegory Assessment
Students define what an Allegory is and determine the deeper meaning of mentor text ’Rabbits’. Students will use Canva presentations, PowerPoint, hand drawn, or any other form of multimedia to create their own Allegory.
- 4-5 week learning experience
- Must have access to at least one copy of the book 'Rabbits', written by Australian author John Marsden. This will be used as a mentor text.
- Cross curriculum priorities - Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Histories and Cultures
Included in bundle:
- Task sheet with success criteria and learning intentions
- Allegory planning pages
- Classroom display sign
- Rubric aligned to Year 7 ACARA achievement standards. Can easily altered if taught in Year 6 or 8.
I have honestly never had students so engaged in a task and would highly recommend this unit as the first unit taught at the beginning of the year. Students are able to apply their creativity, without having to write an essay type assessment.
