This landscape yarn painting art lesson is a perfect way to introduce your middle and high school students to Indigenous Peoples Day and Hispanic Heritage Month. Students will create a landscape using techniques similar to what the Huichol of Mexico used and are still using. Students will be able to recall information about Huichol Art and artists, create a landscape with yarn that uses color, texture and direction to create variety in their artwork. The PowerPoint and PDF slides include: standards (Examine art works to form ideas and criteria by which to judge and inspire personal works and artistic growth. Featuring the work of the Huichol of Mexico this is the perfect lesson to teach for Hispanic Heritage Month!
