    Description

As children are encouraged to share more and connect in school, they are being encouraged to look at opportunities to communicate and connect emotionally.

Circle promise and circle time are great ways to encourage listening and relating skills.

Monday morning circle time once a week starts the week off with a tone of connectivity, highlighting the uniqueness of each individual while fortifying the cohesiveness of the classroom community.

SEL ACTIVITIES: Circle Promise and Weekly Circle Topics

SEL ACTIVITY - Circle Promise Board

Children can read or repeat the lines of this poem before circle time to help create a safe space and intention. Print and Laminate.

When children are unsure of how to react to social situations, social scripting can be quite beneficial. Reading a social script once a week can instill greater knowledge and awareness of socially appropriate behavior that respects the group.

Tuesday social stories can instill inner directives in children for an empathic mindset.

    SEL ACTIVITIES: Reading Social Stories

This bundle includes a social story per week for the entire school year.

Social stories are scripts and questions about interpersonal relationships, emotional regulation, communication, and coping skills.
