Looking for meaningful scaffolding activities to help your year 3, 4, 5 and 6 students who are struggling with their writing?

These activities will help students to enhance their writing by writing richer, better, stronger, effective sentences. This is done through looking at various stimulating images for context and connection!

Students brainstorm & record words associated with the image., give a physical description , list interesting or unusual facts, use the image as a prompt for an imaginative story, and increase their vocabulary for words using synonyms and antonyms. They also tune into their five sense to help them describe an image, character, setting.

Checklists are provided on some of the planners to focus students on what they need to have, for best writing possible for them. Similes, metaphors, personification are also introduced to engage the reader of the students writing.

When using the Digital version students need to be in edit mode for both PowerPoint and Google Slides™

This PowerPoint can be used whenever the need arises to either teach, reinforce or assess. It is meant to be a 10 minute warm up each day to revise and refresh student learning.
