Writing an Information Report {Posters, Labels and Rubric}

These information report posters provide definitions for each section of an information report. It also includes labels to place on an enlarged, shared text with definitions. There are arrows which can be placed on the text to such details such as technical language. A rubric is also included which you can use to assess information reports written by students.

IN MY CLASSROOM I have these posters printed and laminated. They can be joined with rings or blu-tacked on the board/wall as a display. As we are reading an information report we deconstruct the text by referring to the posters and their definitions. We use the labels to label our information report and the definitions to assist our understanding. After we have deconstructed an information report I leave the posters on display to assist students when writing their own information report.
