Tools for Writing Workshop: I have received zillions of compliments from teachers and administrators from schools all over my district. I can’t take credit for the idea. I’ve seen this idea on Pinterest and all over the internet. I first made a set for summer school last year and it was a hit. Everyone loved them. I taught 3rd & 4th for summer school so I have a couple of pages that have different versions due to my grade assignment this year for 2nd grade. I tweaked a couple pages for primary but kept the old ones. They were too cute!
At “Meet the Teacher” a.k.a. Open House I had them on desks. They really spiced up the room.
Use as a personal desk reference or in centers for use as a writing center or literacy center.
Simply put two file folders together, print and paste!
1. Full Page- 300 Fry Words in Alphabetical Order.
2. 2 versions: 1 full page or 1 half page (2 per page) I Can Punctuate: Gives brief details and examples of punctuation rules.
3. Full Page- Synonym Sheet: "In Other Words" Synonyms for happe, nice, good, like, see and bad
4. Full Page- 2 Versions: 1 With Movie Film and 1 w/o Movie Film. "Show Stopping Topics to Write About"
5. 1/2 Sheet (2 per page) Capital Letter Rules
6. Full Sheet- Remember: Tips for Good Writers Chart
7. Full Sheet- Common Words Chart: Family Words, Number Words and Color Words
8. 2 Types of Headers
9. 1/2 Sheet Hamburgers Primary Style (2 per page)
10. 1/2 Sheet Hamburgers (2 per page) Intermediate Hamburger Writing Guide
11. 1/2 Sheet Roller Coaster Anchor Chart (2 per page) Primary I used a caterpillar transforming to show changes in a story.
12. 1/2 Sheet Roller Coaster Writing Plot Chart for intermediate (2 per page).
