Description

My universal, "fill in the blank" Writing Template 4th & 5th Graders: Opinion Essay (formal state exams)

Parents and teachers can give this template to their children/students and have them follow it when attempting to write formal Opinion essays. It is easy to follow!

If you like this free sample and want more (Informative Essay Template) or maybe even a Reading and Language Arts recurring homework project and instructional videos showing how to write these formal essays, then check out my new book: The Reading and Language Arts Formula. It has sample essays that scored perfect 10s and a QR-coded instructional video library inside. As a bonus, it is a combined language volume in both English & Spanish. Find all of this easily on Amazon:

In my 20+ years in teaching writing, I have had several students who have followed this exact template and scored perfect 10s on both their Write Score and state exams.

The template is fantastic because it covers everything structural on the checklist that the judges look at. It also is fantastic for kids who struggle with not knowing what to write on formal writing exams. The prompts keep their mind on target and their writing finishes on time.
