What educators are saying

This is a great visual reference rubric for paragraph writing. I found this very helpful. Thank you.

Description

This is a collection of 3 rubric styles for efficient and consistent grading of student essays. Each rubric is broken down into categories (introduction, body, conclusion, use of transitions, and grammar/mechanics). Exemplary traits span the top row, and then each subsequent row describes lesser quality traits. There is also white space at the bottom for additional teacher comments. Rubrics are set up for a total of 100 points, however they can be easily adapted to a 4 point rubric.

Rubrics included are:

  • Personal Narrative
  • Persuasive
  • Compare/Contrast

Also included is a poster explaining the parts of an exemplary essay which can be included in your students writer's workshop folders or as a classroom visual.

Enjoy!
