What educators are saying

My students love using this resource during reading centers! They work with me at my center to create sentences based on the prompts.
My students enjoy this resource for their morning journal. It works well for me in a multi grade classroom. Keep in mind there is only two lines for writing, so those who write may not have enough space to fully answer the prompt. The lower level kiddos do great with it and the shorter answers!

    Description

Make daily writing a habit that kids look forward to with regular journal writing prompts for kindergarten and pre-k. This writing journal BUNDLE includes over 300 writing prompt ideas on a wide variety of topics with different purposes for writing throughout the ENTIRE YEAR.

Kids will practice various types of writing including narrative, expository, persuasive, and descriptive writing in an age-appropriate way. They'll also grow in their writing abilities and confidence in various writing formats through consistent opportunities to write.

By using these writing prompts throughout the year you can easily document student growth and gather work samples for ongoing assessment to show the drastic progress students make when they're given the opportunity to write regularly.

Because we know kids are at all different stages in the writing process each writing prompt set includes both unlined and lined journal response pages with a bonus lined journal page for kids to who are ready to write even more extensive responses.

If you already have pre-made journals, it's super easy to print the mini prompts and glue them directly into your existing journals.

    TEACHERS LIKE YOU SAID...

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐"We use these journals almost everyday! The topics are so fun and provide such different types of writing!"

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐"These journal prompts are awesome! My students enjoy using this resource, and it's super easy to prep and then choose samples for each child's portfolio. I really like that the prompt is printed on the page - makes it easier to go back and revisit student work or to share with families at a conference since sometimes it can be a challenge to decipher emergent writing."

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐"This was the perfect answer to a journal time for my Kinders. There is enough variety of journal entries that I can pick & choose to correlate with our ELA unit theme each week! Thank you!"

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐"I have always wanted to incorporate journal writing into my week, but I could never find the right resource. I wanted something simple, no/low prep, and with engaging prompts. I was so thankful to find this resource! It was everything I needed it to be and my students are loving Friday journal time."
