Description
This assignment has students use their creativity, experience, and imagination to write their own basic song. They will learn about how a generic song is structured then use an easy-to-follow formula to come up with their own song. The assignment is broken into 3 different steps that can all be put together to complete a generic song that also rhymes!
Once the worksheet is completed, students and/or the teacher can sing through them using karaoke backtracks online or a live piano/guitar. It is so much fun to see what the students comes up with and is a great outlet for them to get creative with the power of music.
*Modern song examples that follow the generic song formula are included and color coded.
